Spring is here are you ready!! Don’t be this guy !!!

This is my favorite time of year the birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, and the grass is growing. But not everyone is happy because they look at the grass and it needs to be cut. So they pull the mower out of the shed and put the OLD gas that’s in the can, left over from last year in the mower. Then the fun begins they start to pull and pull. With no luck of starting they stand back and think about it. The decision is made that if the rope is pulled harder and faster then it will start. So they get a tight grip on the handle put their foot on the wheel, start the pull down by the engine and pull as hard as they can. NOW after getting up off the ground and looking around hoping the neighbor didn’t see them, they realize the pull handle is still in their hand and now the rope is broken. As they look at the mower NOW it’s the mowers fault. But I can tell you it was the bad gas put in the mower and the mower not stored properly for winter. So don’t be that guy get your mower in early for a spring tune up.

Spring is right around the corner

Well here we are gearing up for another spring. We just finished being in the Cape Cod Landscape Trade Show and that seems to be the annual spring kick off. Many of the landscapers I talked to said they were starting clean ups the 2nd week of March. So far I’ve had a lot of interest in equipment sales and taking orders. We have received our shipment of bobcat mowers and 21″ lawnmower will be in soon. This is a good time to look over your equipment and make sure they are running properly. We have all our parts in stock so if you just want parts or want us to service it come on down. DON’T WAIT TILL YOU NEED IT TO BRING IT IN FOR REPAIRS. Where did summer go and now here comes fall. What happen it seems we were just getting ready for 4th of July and now here we are the fall season. Well it time to get ready for the leaves to come down and stock up on firewood. That means starting up the chainsaw and the blowers. Hurricane Irene seem to help get the chainsaws started up but now it’s time to start the leaf blowers. Make sure you start with fresh fuel and don’t forget to mix 2 cycle oil with the gas. Check the air filters and spark plugs if they look bad replace them. If your equipment won’t start bring them in now before the rush. Spring has sprung

OK open up the shed and move things around and watch the mice go in all directions. It’s time to move the mower out and put the snow blower away. Wow what a winter it’s been. I don’t know about you but I’m sick of cold weather and being indoors all the time. I want to get outside and start planting, mulching and cutting grass. NOW is the time to try your outdoor power equipment to see if it works or not. And don’t wait to bring it down for repairs. We are busy but not crazy busy yet. In the next couple of weeks we will be straight out and telling customers we are 7 to 10 days before we can touch their machine. That’s why we want you to get it in now before the rush. We expect to see more carburetor work this spring due to ethanol problems. As you have read in my earlier blogs treat the gas before you have problems. Look on my earlier blog to see how to get your equipment ready for storage. So don’t wait check out all your equipment and get it fixed before you need it. And let’s have a great outdoor season.

Here comes Spring (we hope)

Well here I sit looking out my bay window and watch the snow fall yet again. I have to say it looks beautiful when it’s new but I’ve had enough we need an early spring. I’m looking at my boat and wishing I was in Cape Cod Bay catching big bass. It won’t be long before I’ll uncover my boat and get it ready for boating season. I always take the time to do preventive maintenance before heading out on the water. The month of March is a great time to pull the rope on all your equipment and see if it will start. It’s also good to look for worn parts and cracked belts. When we are looking at Snapper and Troy Bilt equipment we look for problems before they happen. The bigger Bobcat equipment requires a little more time because there is a lot more to look for. If you don’t do anything else you should change the oil and change the spark plug, clean the air filter and sharpen the blade. If this is not what you like to do then We service most types of equipment but it’s best to call our service department and let us know what brand you have. We get very busy when the weather turns good so don’t wait bring in your equipment now and have it ready when you need it.
